To keep track of everything you need to do throughout the program, we have prepared these lists.

BEFORE ARRIVAL AT XAVIER UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA

A). PREPARATION FOR SUMMER SCHOOL

Use the following checklist. As you complete each action check it off, then move to the next step.

_Read this publication, paying close attention to the particulars of your program (Continuing Education Enrichment Program or Degree Program).
_By the end of February make sure all those giving you a letter of recommendation have received the Letter of Recommendation Form.
_If you need to prove proficiency in English, please make sure you have taken the TOEFL test.

B). COMPLETE APPLICATION, HOUSING, HEALTH AND OTHER FORMS

_Application/Pre-Registration Forms for Admission.
_Statement of Intention (written by NEW/TRANSIENT DEGREE AND NEW C&E STUDENTS APPLICANTS ONLY).
_Have official transcripts sent from your university to Xavier’s Institute For Black Catholic Studies (for NEW/TRANSIENT DEGREE AND NEW C&E STUDENTS ONLY).
_Application fee (check or money order to be sent with application packages).
_Letter of Recommendation (pay particular attention to each program specifications).
_Housing Application Form.
_Scholarship Application Form and all accompanying information(if applicable).
_Health Service Forms (PLEASE SEND THE FORMS DIRECTLY TO XAVIER UNIVERSITY HEATLTH SERVICES WITH A COPY TO XAVIER’S INSTITUTE. DUE AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION).
_Make a Portfolio with copies of all materials sent to the Institute.

C). MAIL ALL APPLICATION FORMS

_SEND APPLICATION PACKAGE AND HEALTH FORMS BEFORE DEADLINE DATES

January 23 – April 17, 2017
Early Application
Scholarship Eligibility

Students will be eligible to apply for a scholarship ONLY during the early application process.

April 18 – June 12, 2017
Regular Application
NO Scholarship Eligibility

Students will NOT be eligible to apply for scholarships during the regular application process.

D). PAY FEES

_ALL OTHER FEES (INCLUDING TUITION, ROOM AND BOARD, ACTIVITY FEE, TECHNOLOGY FEE, ETC.) SHOULD BE PAID BY MAY 15TH (SEE FEE SCHEDULE SHEET UNDER THE FORMS TAB OF OUR WEBSITE).

E). PURCHASE BOOKS AND READ IN ADVANCE

_Check for booklist on Website and be prepared to purchase them at University Center’s Barnes and Noble’s Bookstore or in advance at Amazon.com or some other on-line service.
_Begin reading texts and Xavier University Rules and Regulations (on website xula.edu) in preparation for summer classes.

UPON ARRIVAL AT XAVIER UNIVERSITY OF LOUISIANA

A). CHECK IN

_Check into (BUILDING #44) St. Martin De Porres Residence and unpack clothes, books, etc.

B). LATE REGISTRATION

APRIL 18 – JUNE 12, 2017

ALL STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE FINAL REGISTRATION AND PAY BALANCE OF BILL BY THIS DATE REGARDLESS OF THE PROGRAM OR WEEK THE STUDENT WILL BE ATTENDING!

C). HEALTH, COURSE APPROVAL, REGISTRATION, AND FISCAL CLEARANCES

_Go to The University Health Services, in the St. Joseph Student Center, 3rd floor Health Clearance

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN HEALTH CLEARED, RETURN TO XAVIER SOUTH (BUILDING #40) – INSTITUTE OFFICES AND CONFERENCE ROOMS, 555-560 TO MEET WITH THE DEGREE OR C&E ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR.

_Have your schedule approved by program advisors…
_Proceed to the UC Ballroom for final registration, and to Student Accounts to pay tuition and other fees.

D). ID CARDS

_To get Xavier ID Cards go to the Card Services Office in (Building #17) University Center – Room #122 – Ground Floor or designated area.

E). PURCHASE BOOKS

_Purchase books at Xavier University Center’s Barnes and Noble Bookstore – 2nd Floor – textbook section (Building #17).

F). PARKING PASSES & STICKERS

_Go to the IBCS Office in the Xavier South Building – Room 560.

G). CHECK OUT

_BEFORE LEAVING CAMPUS, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR HOUSING KEY IS TURNED IN (TO AVOID BEING CHARGED THE REPLACEMENT FEE OF $25.00), AND ALL OF YOUR FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS ARE SETTLED.
